Gaspar Baugh
Gaspar was born and raised in
Fort Worth, Texas. His earliest memories are watching the
Marquis DeRod on the late night monster movie show, Midnight
Macabre, with his father. Now an adult and small time comedian,
he's taking the show from his deceased childhood hero and
trying to divide his time between writing scripts for the show,
booking gigs for his rent and being a decent father on the
weekends he gets his daughter, Lisa.
Arthur "Art" Anderson
Art is Gaspar's long suffering childhood
friend. He's the sort of person with a lot of potential but always
seems to fall sort. He has a computer science degree but the only thing
it's really granted him thus far is a mound of college loan debt.
Art bounces from job to job, usually staying just long enough to add to
his technical knowledge and get one more employer very infuriated with
him.
Celina Lanicek
A native New Yorker, Celina came to Texas
to study theatre at North Texas State University and never really left.
She's one of the few paid employees of KTCO which is only fair - she
spends the most time at the station. Celina has a hand in every single
show that airs on Channel 20 and often loudly reminds any who can here.
Celina has a violent temper but seldom acts on her threats.
Brandon James Leroux
Mr. Leroux was born into a small fortune
of an old oil family, of which he was the only heir. Having long sold
off the old family business, he keeps himself busy with various charity
events, small enterprises and tending to KTCO, the UHF television
station he bought in the fifties.
Natalie Daniels
Natalie was Gaspar's high school
sweetheart but their friendship precedes that. After graduation the two
hurried into marriage but things became strained early on. Although
divorced, the two have done their best to remain friends not only for
the sake of their daughter but for themselves as well.
Lisa Baugh
Gaspar's and Natalie's toddler daughter
spends most of her time playing in dirt with her Tonka cars or
scribbling on surfaces her parents would normally prefer left unscathed
by crayons. She's a daddy's girl who has already begun showing interest
in most of Gaspar's hobbies, especially horror films.
Gladys Middleton
Gladys has been with KTCO since it began.
Her duties include maintaining the station's archive of tapes, ordering
supplies, and tending to the herd of half-Persian/half-Siamese cats that
long ago mysteriously appeared in Building 3 of the station. She does
this all with finesse and a heavy dose of pills.
Tulia Baugh
Tulia is Gaspar's mother and Lisa's
grandmother. She isn't nearly as good humored as Gaspar's late father,
Albert, was, but despite her abrasive tendancies really does want the
best for her son. She lives south of Dallas - just close enough to
annoy Gaspar but far enough for him to constantly worry about her.
