What the Hell? And Links of the Damned

May 26, 1981

So, speaking of things that were important about twenty-four years ago, Burt Reynolds is in the news again. Not only is his a supporting star in a remake of one of his films, but he also bitch slapped a reporter at the premiere for not knowing enough about the film. Normally, I don't give a damn about celebrities, but this just made me laugh - mainly because his publicist explained it was only a light tap across the face (funny, I watched the video of it and I didn't know light taps made loud "pop" sounds) and said Reynolds was only kidding.

Just kidding. Right.

I want a publicist so I'll have someone to make things up for me. "Mr. Milholland was, of course, only kidding when he punched the reporter's child in the forehead and then had sexual relations with that piano. And, of course, it was completely an inside joke when my client hamstringed Noam Chomsky and pulled him into an alley way to feast upon the good professor's leathery flesh."

And now, a few more time wasters! Hope you enjoy them.

Brian's Drive-In Theater is a celebration of b-movies gone by. Easy to get lost in especially if you're a fan of old schlock and cheese.

You can't talk about b movies or horror hosts without tipping your hat to Elvira. Site doesn't have a lot of updates, sadly, but she still keeps an active appearance schedule.

And for me, being from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, b movies go hand in hand with Joe Bob Briggs - also known as John Bloom. Bloom has always been a hell of a writer, and if you want to know a bit more about him and just how differently his career began, the Dallas Observer ran a great piece on him back in 1998. Worth a read. -R
